TROY HANSCOM

Beginning on a Fostex cassette four track in the late 80's, Troy has lived through and embraced the digital revolution. Before earning a degree in music, he performed around the Northeast in various bands. After graduation Troy and his wife Cathy moved to Colorado for seven years, during which they played and taught around Denver and the mountain communities. Troys' first experience with Protools was with the help of Bill Wilkinson at Mountainworks studios in Colorado. Bill guided Troy through the engineering, mixing and mastering process in the digital world during the recording of the Genetic Fuzz CD "Get on the bus." Later Troy produced the Uncle Daddy CD "NUFUNK" and Tommy Venturas newest release "9 new ways" . When the kids arrived they came back to Maine where the rest of the family lives.After settling back in Maine, Troy started MadMoon Studios and partnered up with Randy Donavan- Friend, drummer and fellow studio owner to start Vacationland Productions . (Troys' take on VP)- "Randy is a little more hands on and old school about the process so with my computer recording experience, Randys' anologue expertise and our mutual interest in digital video, it seems like a great combo to cover all the bases." |

RANDY DONOVAN
|
Randy, a drummer of 28 years, toured around the Northeast with many bands before he began his recording endeavors. Currently he owns a small project studio in Lewiston and has dedicated his services to Vacationland Productions. He has worked with and opened for many performers such as, Rick Deringer, John Caferty and the Beaver Brown Band, Ronnie Earl and the Broadcasters, Southern Rock Allstars, Steel Pulse and more. In the mid 90's he started recording his band on two track for documentation purposes and was fascinated by the process. After a few two channel board mixes he moved up to mutitrack digital recorders and eventually to ProTools . Randys' specialty is live mobile audio recording. As he puts it, "Recording live bands is great because you get to relive the experience all over again". Since teaming with Troy the two have pursued a mutual interest in video and the result is Vacationland Productions. |
